5-Amino-4-methyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3-one is an antibacterial agent that has been shown to have potent activity against cancer cells. It inhibits lipid synthesis in tumor cells and lowers the levels of lipids. 5-Amino-4 methyl 3,4 dihydro 2H 1,4 benzoxazin 3 one has been shown to be a synthetic analog of erythromycin and has been shown to inhibit hepg2 cancer cell growth. This drug also inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to bacterial ribosomes and inhibiting protein synthesis.
