Sulfaquinoxaline-d4 is a synthetic compound that is used as an impurity standard for the drug product sulfaquinoxaline. It can be synthesized from 4-amino-5-hydroxymethyl-2(5H)-furanone and 1,3-dichloro-2(1H)-quinoxaline. Sulfaquinoxaline-d4 has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis in bacteria but has not been studied for its effects on humans or other mammals.
