Eugenol-d3 is a stable isotope of eugenol that can be used to validate kinetic methods for analyzing the uptake, distribution and metabolism of eugenol in muscle tissue. Eugenol-d3 can be added as an additive to improve the quality of food fish. The use of this compound has been shown to reduce the amount of residue left behind in catfish after slaughter.
