2-Chlorotetrahydrofuran
CAS:2-Chlorotetrahydrofuran is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of 33.5°C. It is soluble in carbon tetrachloride, hydrocarbons, and ethers. This compound reacts rapidly with potassium t-butoxide to form 2-chloroethyl vinyl ether (2CEVE), ethylene, and chloroform as the reaction products. The reaction can be carried out efficiently using a hydrocarbon solvent such as hexane or heptane. 2-Chlorotetrahydrofuran is an important precursor for the synthesis of pyrimidine nucleosides and other pharmaceutical compounds. It has been shown to have cytostatic activity against leukemia cells in vitro when used at high concentrations.Formula:C4H7ClOPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:106.55 g/mol
