SR1664 is a non-peptide, synthetic, small molecule that binds to the fatty acid binding site on the PPARγ receptor. SR1664 has been shown to activate PPARγ and induce β-oxidation of fatty acids in vitro, leading to decreased triglycerides and cholesterol levels in mice.
