Zinc tosylate
CAS:Zinc tosylate is a zinc salt of tosyl chloride that has been used in many electrochemical studies as a redox couple. The reaction mechanism of the electrochemical process involves an electrophilic attack by the nucleophilic zinc cation on the sulfonic acid. This nucleophilic attack leads to the formation of the corresponding sulfonate ion and zinc monosulfide species. Zinc tosylate is also used in organic synthesis reactions such as β-amino acid synthesis, hydroxyl group generation, and carbonyl group formation. Zinc tosylate has been shown to undergo a thermally induced decomposition with release of sulfur dioxide and production of zinc oxide (ZnO).Formula:C14H14O6S2ZnPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:407.77 g/molRef: 3D-FZ141810
