trans-Hydroxy praziquantel
CAS:Trans-hydroxypraziquantel is an anthelmintic drug that belongs to the group of quinolones. It is a racemate consisting of two enantiomers, which are mirror images of each other. Trans-hydroxypraziquantel has been used to treat schistosomiasis and other parasitic infections, as well as some forms of cancer. The pharmacologic properties of trans-hydroxypraziquantel are due to its uptake by the intestinal tract and subsequent metabolism in the liver, which results in a high plasma concentration. Trans-hydroxypraziquantel has been shown to be effective against various species of parasites and worms, including Schistosoma mansoni and Ascaris lumbricoides.
