    KW 3902 is a 2-adrenergic receptor antagonist that blocks the binding of norepinephrine to its receptor, thereby inhibiting the effects of this hormone. This drug has been shown to increase levels of atrial natriuretic peptide and decrease levels of angiotensin II, leading to increased water excretion and reduced blood pressure. KW 3902 also decreases energy expenditure by blocking the effects of adenosine on the heart, which may be due to its ability to antagonize 2-adrenergic receptors. The pharmacological treatment with KW 3902 in anesthetized rats showed a reduction in body weight and total body mass index.
