2,4-Diaminophenol dihydrochloride
CAS:2,4-Diaminophenol dihydrochloride is an organic compound that is used in analytical chemistry for the detection of phosphorus pentoxide. It reacts with glycosidic bonds to form stable complexes and has been shown to produce a visible color change when reacted with fatty acids. 2,4-DAP is also used in histology for the preparation of paraffin sections. 2,4-DAP reacts with hydrochloric acid to form an unstable complex. This complex can be detected by using a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of about 420 nm. Although this chemical has been found to be carcinogenic in some studies, it has not been found to have any carcinogenic effects in other studies.Formula:C6H8N2O•(HCl)2Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Beige To Yellow To Dark Green To Brown SolidMolecular weight:197.06 g/mol2,4-Diaminophenol Dihydrochloride (Amidol) extrapure, 98%
