CAS:Tris(2,4-pentanedionato)aluminum(III) is a model system for studying the interactions of metal ions with organic molecules. It has been shown to be a reactive surface capable of forming strong bonds with glycol ethers, such as ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol. These bonds have been shown to increase the thermal expansion and water vapor permeability of aluminum oxide films.
