CAS:NBD-COCl is used as an analytical reagent for the determination of enantiomeric purity. It reacts with eugenol in organic solvents to produce a colored product. This reaction can be used to determine the concentration of eugenol in a model system. The NBD-COCl method has been applied to human serum and urine samples, where it has been shown that the reaction is specific for hexane amines and does not react with other compounds that may be present in these samples. The NBD-COCl method is suitable for use in clinical laboratories, because it can be carried out without any solvent other than methanol or ethanol. The reaction solution can be directly injected into an hplc system without any need for derivatisation or purification steps. Results are obtained quickly and there is no need to separate the analyte from any impurities present in the sample.Formula:C9H7ClN4O4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:270.63 g/mol
