It is used in experimental models of radiation-induced tissue damage. Trans-1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic anhydride has been shown to have potent immunomodulatory effects in both allergic and nonallergic human serum. This compound also has been shown to induce the production of eosinophil cationic protein, a mediator of allergic reactions.
