Tris(dipivaloylmethanato)manganese has been used to synthesize γ-aminobutyric acid and has been shown to be neuroprotective in rats against convulsant agents. The synthesis of this compound can be accomplished by photoelectrochemistry or by absorption spectroscopy. Densities of this compound have not yet been identified; however, it has been found that it is a convulsant for humans at high concentrations.
