4-Propylbenzenesulfonyl chloride is a synthetic chemical compound that has been shown to have anti-angiogenic effects. It inhibits the formation of new blood vessels by targeting the endothelial cells that line the inside of blood vessels. 4-Propylbenzenesulfonyl chloride is a nucleophilic reagent that reacts with amines and sulfur groups on proteins, leading to cross-links between proteins and irreversible changes in their structure. This process disrupts cellular functions and leads to cell death. The compound also has an inhibitory effect on malaria parasites as it prevents the development of erythrocytic stages from allantoic ascites tumor cells in mice. 4-Propylbenzenesulfonyl chloride is hydrophobic and binds to hydrophobic areas on protein surfaces, making it less soluble in water.
