CAS:Pentafluorophenoxyacetic acid is an alkanoic acid which has been synthesized for use as a reagent in the analysis of urine samples for the presence of podophyllotoxin. It is also used as a synthetic intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds. Pentafluorophenoxyacetic acid is stable to radiation and has been used to analyze biological samples for the presence of cancerous cells. The carbonyl oxygens present in this compound may bind to fatty acids, which are found in human skin oils and lipids. This can cause problems with analytical methods that rely on detecting these carbonyl oxygens. Pentafluorophenoxyacetic acid has been shown to inhibit certain enzyme-catalyzed reactions that are necessary for the formation of certain chemical compounds, such as inhibitors. This property may be useful when studying patterning in chemical reactions.Formula:C8H3F5O3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:242.1 g/molPENTAFLUOROPHENOXYACETIC ACID
