Methyl-1-naphthylcarbinol
CAS:Methyl-1-naphthylcarbinol is a carbonyl compound that has a deuterium isotope effect. It is used as an intermediate in the production of a range of chemical compounds, including pesticides, and other pharmaceuticals. Methyl-1-naphthylcarbinol has been found to be effective in controlling infection by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This agent reacts with nucleophilic groups on the surface of bacteria to form covalent bonds, which prevents bacterial growth and multiplication. Methyl-1-naphthylcarbinol also has an effect on the hydroxyl group, which results in oxidation catalyzed by hydrogen peroxide. This reaction causes cellular damage and death to bacteria, leading to inhibition of cell growth and replication.Formula:C12H12OMolecular weight:172.22 g/molRef: 3D-FM67786
