4-Cyclopentylphenol
CAS:4-Cyclopentylphenol is a natural compound that has been shown to have potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic activities. It is also found in some essential oils, such as eugenol. 4-Cyclopentylphenol is metabolized by the human UDP-glucuronosyltransferase enzyme into 4-tert-butylphenol, which is a potent inhibitor of the constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) in human liver cells. This inhibition prevents the binding of certain hormones to CARs and reduces the production of inflammatory compounds. The effect of 4-cyclopentylphenol on cervical cancer cells has been investigated using a turbidimetric method. The results show that the concentration of 4-cyclopentylphenol required to inhibit 50% of cell growth was 10 times lower than that for eugenol or 2,6-dimethoxyphenol.Formula:C5H9C6H4OHPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:162.23 g/mol4-Cyclopentylphenol
