CAS:Epothilone A is an anti-cancer drug that inhibits the mcl-1 protein, which is a member of the Bcl-2 family. Epothilone A binds to the BH3 domain of the mcl-1 protein and prevents it from binding to proapoptotic proteins, such as Bax. This inhibition leads to apoptosis in cancer cells. Epothilone A has been shown to have clinical properties in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, with a low toxicity profile.
