SCR7 is a homologous recombinant protein that inhibits the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) by binding to the DNA-dependent RNA polymerase. SCR7 has been shown to be effective in inhibiting tumor growth in mouse models of colorectal adenocarcinoma and may be a potential anticancer agent due to its ability to inhibit tumor angiogenesis. SCR7 also possesses anti-inflammatory properties, which are thought to be due to its inhibition of NF-κB. The biological properties of SCR7 have been studied in model organisms such as yeast, Drosophila melanogaster, and zebrafish.

SCR7, a specific DNA Ligase IV inhibitor, blocks nonhomologous end-joining (NHEJ).
