    LG 100268 is a synthetic retinoid that binds to Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) and inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines. LG 100268 has been shown to be a novel TLR7 agonist that decreases the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α. This agent also has antiviral activity against HIV and cytotoxic effects on HL60 cells. LG 100268 may be useful for treating squamous cell carcinoma or other cancers in which TLR7 is involved in the pathogenesis.
