CAS:3-Methyl-8-quinolinesulfonic acid is a chlorinating agent that can be used to produce 3,4,5-trichloropropane-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid (TCA) from propionaldehyde. It is used in the production of acrylates and other organic chemicals. 3-Methyl-8-quinolinesulfonic acid can also be used as an eutectic mixture with potassium hydroxide to produce a high boiling point mixture that will not freeze at low temperatures.
