  • Iron(III) fluoride trihydrate

    CAS:
Iron(III) fluoride trihydrate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula FeF3. It is a colorless solid that is insoluble in water, but soluble in hydrofluoric acid. The compound can be prepared by reacting hydrogen fluoride with iron metal at elevated temperatures and pressures. Iron(III) fluoride trihydrate has been studied using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to assess its ability to catalyze the reaction of hydrogen fluoride and trifluoride. This material has also been used for the production of other compounds, such as fluorine gas, which is an important industrial chemical for the manufacture of polymers, semiconductors, and pharmaceuticals.

  • Iron(III) fluoride trihydrate

    CAS:
The primary commercial use of iron(III) fluoride in the production of ceramics. Some cross coupling reaction are catalyzed by ferric fluoride-based compounds. Iron(III) fluoride has also been shown to catalyze chemoselective addition of cyanide to aldehydes to give the cyanohydrins.
