Nickel(II) formate dihydrate
CAS:Nickel(II) formate dihydrate is used in nickel catalyst preparations. It is also used as a biochemical for proteomics research. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.Formula:Ni(HCO2)2•2H2OMolecular weight:184.77 (148.74anhy)Nickel formate
CAS:Nickel formate is a nickel salt of formic acid. It is used in analytical chemistry as an electron microscope reagent to reveal reaction products and reaction mechanisms. Nickel formate is prepared by reacting diphenyl ether with nickel oxide in the presence of water. This reaction produces Ni(OH)2, which reacts with formic acid to produce nickel formate. The product has a particle size between 0.5-10 micrometres, with optical properties that are dependent on the hydroxyl group content and particle size distribution. It has been shown that the activation energies for dehydration and activation energies are greater than those of other metal formates.Formula:C2H8O6NiPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:184.77 g/molFormic acid, nickel(2+) salt, dihydrate (8CI,9CI)
