5-Phenyl-1H-pyrazol-3-amine

5-Amino-3-phenylpyrazole is a synthetic pyrazole that has been shown to have anticancer activity. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inducing apoptotic cell death. This compound has been shown to be more potent than cisplatin in inhibiting the proliferation of human breast carcinoma cells, as well as potentiating the antitumor effects of cisplatin in mice. 5-Amino-3-phenylpyrazole can also be conjugated to dyes such as basic dyes, which provides a new way to target cancer cells. The mechanism of action for this compound is not yet fully understood, but it may be due to its ability to bind to DNA and form covalent bonds with nucleophilic groups on the base pairs.
