2,2,2-Trifluoro-1-(2-methoxy-1-cyclohexen-1-yl)ethanone (TFCE) is a derivatized amine that is used as an antioxidant in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. TFCE can be prepared by refluxing 2,2,2-trifluoroacetophenone with methoxycyclohexane and an appropriate catalyst. This product has been shown to have excellent antioxidant activity and high yields. TFCE is environmentally friendly because it does not contain chlorine or fluorine atoms.
