CAS:Indoline-5-carboxylic acid is a fluorinated indole. It has been shown to be an effective cancer treatment, with a potency at least equivalent to that of oxindole. Indoline-5-carboxylic acid also inhibits the production of an enzyme in the brain, which is thought to be responsible for Alzheimer's disease. This compound also interacts with aldehydes and ligands, as well as chlorine atoms. Indoline-5-carboxylic acid can be synthesized by a number of different techniques, including Wolff-Kishner reduction and chlorination reactions.
