1,4-Bis(2-hydroxyethoxy)-2-butyne
CAS:1,4-Bis(2-hydroxyethoxy)-2-butyne (BEB) is a polymerizable monomer that can be synthesized by the reaction of ethylene glycol with butyric acid chloride. BEB can be used as a crosslinker in polyurethane coatings and as a component in silicone rubber formulations. BEB forms gels with copper salts, which are used to titrate the polymerization process. A gelation study was performed using dodecyl alcohol as an acceptor and high concentrations of chloride ions. The gelation mechanism is dependent on the concentration of chloride ions and dodecyl alcohol.Formula:C8H14O4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:174.2 g/mol2,2'-(But-2-yne-1,4-diylbis(oxy))diethanol
