CAS:ZK 200775 is a potent antagonist of the histamine H4 receptor. It has been shown to reduce locomotor activity in mice and rats and is active in animal models of neuropathic pain. ZK 200775 also reduces glutamate-induced neurotoxicity by preventing the opening of cation channels, which leads to neuronal cell death. The biological properties of ZK 200775 are mediated through binding to the histamine H4 receptor, which results in increased production of ATP in neurons.
