The two groups are on the opposite sides of the molecule. Allyl phenyl sulphone is synthesized using an asymmetric synthesis reaction, where boron nitride is used as the substrate molecule. A hydroxide solution is used as the solid catalyst to induce the reaction between an allyl and chlorine atom to form an allyl phenyl sulphone.
