    Fmoc-D-Aph(D-Hor)-OH is a prodrug that is metabolized to the active form, 3-chloro-l-tyrosine. It has been shown to interact with optical and natural products, such as oxone, to form novel compounds. Fmoc-D-Aph(D-Hor)-OH can be used as an antimitotic agent in cancer research. It has high cytotoxicity against a number of cell lines, including resistant cell lines. Fmoc-D-Aph(D-Hor)-OH inhibits microtubule formation by binding to tubulin monomers and preventing their polymerization into microtubules. This leads to accumulation of cells in the G2 phase of the cell cycle and ultimately apoptosis. Fmoc-D-Aph(D-Hor)-OH also inhibits fungal growth through interaction with ergosterol, which disrupts membrane integrity and causes leakage of intracellular contents
