N-Biotinylaminoethyl methanethiosulfonate
CAS:N-Biotinylaminoethyl methanethiosulfonate is a synthetic molecule that binds to the α1 subunit of the Na+,K+-ATPase enzyme. It has been shown to inhibit the inactivation of this enzyme, which is necessary for the transport of sodium and potassium ions across cell membranes. The Na+,K+-ATPase plays an important role in nerve conduction, heart function, and immune response and is also involved in serotonin release from platelets. N-Biotinylaminoethyl methanethiosulfonate binds to the α1 subunit by forming disulfide bonds with cysteine residues.
