CAS:Ethyl 5-(piperazin-1-yl)benzofuran-2-carboxylate is a potent inhibitor of the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in cell cultures. Ethyl 5-(piperazin-1-yl)benzofuran-2-carboxylate binds to the active site of bacterial DNA gyrase and inhibits its activity, thereby inhibiting bacterial DNA replication and transcription. The inhibition of this enzyme leads to decreased levels of ATP production and subsequent inhibition of protein synthesis. This compound also interacts with ATPases, which are enzymes that produce ATP in eukaryotic cells, leading to the disruption of energy production.Formula:C15H18N2O3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:274.32 g/molEthyl 5-(piperazin-1-yl)benzofuran-2-carboxylate
