CAS:Hexafluoro-1-methoxy-2-(trifluoromethyl)propane is a nonafluorobutane that has been studied experimentally to determine the equilibrium data for the vapor and liquid phases. The vapor pressure of this compound was found to be 2.4x10-6 torr, and the equilibrium data correlates with that of 2-propanol. The density of this compound was determined to be 1.12 g/cm3 at 25°C, which is similar to the densities of other nonafluorobutanes. Hexafluoro-1-methoxy-2-(trifluoromethyl)propane has an experimental boiling point of -41°C, which is lower than expected from its molecular weight. This may be due to its high vapor pressure or low heat capacity. It also has a relatively high viscosity and dielectric constant at low temperatures.
