    3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl isocyanate (3,5-BTFPIC) is a perfluorinated chemical with a high boiling point. It has been used in the production of polymers and plastics. 3,5-BTFPIC reacts with hydrogen and forms hydrogen bonds with oxygen molecules to form water. This chemical is also able to bind to many organic compounds, including those that are activated with acetonitrile and particle surfaces. 3,5-BTFPIC has shown to be useful in cell culture as it can be adsorbed by hepg2 cells, which are human hepatocytes. This chemical can also be used in luminescent applications because it emits light when activated by photons.
