CAS:4-Methyl-6-(methylthio)pyridin-2-ol is an acidic, biological compound that has shown antituberculosis activity in vitro. It deacetylates amines and aromatic amines to form the corresponding amides. 4-Methyl-6-(methylthio)pyridin-2-ol is converted to 4-methylpyridine, which inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
