It has been shown to have antifungal activity against Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Xylomyces sp. It also has been shown to be effective against Staphylococcus aureus, but not against Escherichia coli. 3-Cyclohexene-1-methanol has been shown to reduce the size of tumors in mice by inhibiting cell proliferation through cationic polymerization with DNA.
