2-Pyrimidinamine, 5-fluoro-(9Cl) is a synthetic drug that has been shown to have the ability to inhibit cardiovascular disease and intestinal hyperproliferative disorders. It has also been shown to be effective against protozoan parasites such as coccidiosis and infectious diseases such as bifunctional and imidazopyridine. 2-Pyrimidinamine, 5-fluoro-(9Cl) inhibits cgmp-dependent protein phosphodiesterase, which is an enzyme that has been implicated in the regulation of cell proliferation. This inhibition leads to an increase in cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which is a second messenger that can regulate many intracellular processes. The increased levels of cGMP are associated with the inhibition of cell proliferation and the promotion of apoptosis.
