2-[2-(2,5-Dimethylphenoxymethyl)phenyl]-2-methoxy-N-methylacetamide is a bactericidal agent that belongs to the group of monocarboxylic acids. It is used in analytical methods for the determination of monocarboxylic acids, and has been shown to have toxicological effects. This compound has been shown to be toxic to zirconium oxide and chlorine atom, as well as c1-c4 haloalkyl, ethyl group and other organic solvents. 2-[2-(2,5-Dimethylphenoxymethyl)phenyl]-2-methoxy-N-methylacetamide has also been shown to have a polymerase chain reaction inhibitory effect on the synthesis of DNA or RNA.
