  • Isobutyraldehyde diethyl acetal

    CAS:
Isobutyraldehyde diethyl acetal is a chemical compound that has been shown to inhibit muscle cell proliferation and neuronal death. This compound is also capable of inhibiting the production of cinnamic acid derivatives and fatty acids. Isobutyraldehyde diethyl acetal inhibits the growth of cells by binding to their surface and blocking the activity of proteases, which are enzymes that break down proteins. This chemical has been shown to have an acidic property, which may be responsible for its antiproliferative effects. Isobutyraldehyde diethyl acetal can be synthesized in two ways: one is by reacting methyl vinyl ketone with ethylene oxide; the other is by reacting an aldehyde with acetaldehyde diethylacetal, forming a hydrogen bond between the carbon atom on the aldehyde and the oxygen atom on acetaldehyde diethylacetal.
