CAS:2,3,4,5,6-Pentamethylbenzaldehyde is an aromatic nitro compound that can be used as a precursor in the synthesis of other compounds. The reaction of 2,3,4,5,6-pentamethylbenzaldehyde with hydrogen chloride or acidic hydrolysis yields two compounds: 2-chloro-3-(2-nitrophenyl)propene and 5-(2-nitrophenyl)pentanal. These two compounds are activated methylene compounds that can be converted to other organic compounds with the use of a cocatalyst. It has been shown to inhibit human ovarian carcinoma cells and stabilize cardiac arrhythmias.Formula:C12H16OPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:176.26 g/mol
