CAS 17467-35-5: 5-Amino-3-methyl-1,2,4-thiadiazole

5-Amino-3-methyl-1,2,4-thiadiazole is an aromatic heterocyclic compound that is obtained by the reaction of 5-amino-2-methylthiohydantoin and 2,4-dichloroacetophenone. It can be used as a starting material for the synthesis of other heterocycles. 5 -Amino-3 -methyl -1,2,4 -thiadiazole crystallizes in two dimensions with a molecular formula of C5H5N3S and a molecular weight of 149.13 g/mol. The x-ray diffraction pattern shows that the molecule has a planar structure with rings A and B parallel to each other. The x-ray diffraction pattern also reveals that there are no strong reflections at the origin (0°) or at 90° to it.
