CAS:2-Amino-6-(methylsulfonyl)benzothiazole is a methyl ester that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It binds to the chromophore in the cell, preventing it from absorbing light and producing ATP. 2-Amino-6-(methylsulfonyl)benzothiazole has been shown to bind with high affinity to both the x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy surfaces, while also inhibiting enzyme activity. This compound has also been shown to be toxic at higher concentrations.
