CAS:3-Mercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid sodium salt is a molecule that contains ethylene diamine and has three sulfur atoms. The molecule is soluble in water, but not in organic solvents. 3-Mercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid sodium salt reacts with hydrochloric acid to form hydrogen gas and sodium chloride. This molecule also has photochemical properties and can be used to clean surfaces. The reaction solution of 3-mercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid sodium salt is blue and when added to a plasma mass spectrometry, it produces peaks at m/z = 143 (CCl), m/z = 137 (C), m/z = 111 (Cl), m/z = 103 (H), m/z = 97 (N).
