CAS:Stearic acid is an organic compound with the formula CH(CH) 16COOH. It consists of a long-chain carboxylic acid with a long hydrocarbon chain. Stearic acid is used in wastewater treatment, where it is used as an oxidizing agent to break down organic matter. It can be used to analyze water samples by electrospray ionization and resonance mass spectroscopy (ESI-MS). The reactivity of stearic acid also makes it useful for surface analysis of water surfaces and octadecanol molecules. Stearic acid has been shown to be effective in the production of hydrogen peroxide by oxidation when combined with sodium chlorite and potassium iodide. This process can be visualized using microscopy and monolayers can be formed on the surface of these solutions using polyvinyl alcohol or polyethylene glycols. The reaction products from this process are lipid peroxides, which are toxic to living organisms,Formula:C18HD35O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:319.69 g/molStearic-D35 Acid
CAS:Controlled ProductApplications Stearic-D35 Acid is used for preparation of deuterated octadecanethiols. Stearic-D35 Acid is an isotope labeled analog of Stearic Acid (S686495), which is used in the synthesis of surfactants and detergents due to the fatty acid component of its structure.
