CAS:2-Methyl-4(3H)-quinazolinone is a quinazolinone that has been found to be an inhibitor of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) production. This compound also has strong antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis. 2-Methyl-4(3H)-quinazolinone inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA dependent RNA polymerase, preventing transcription and replication. The high frequency of human activity has been shown using a patch clamp technique on human erythrocytes. This active form is metabolized through a number of metabolic transformations, including hydrolysis by esterases or glucuronidases, oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes, reduction by glutathione reductase, or conjugation with glucuronic acid. 2-Methyl-4(3H)-quinazolinone also specifically binds to markers expressed at high levels inFormula:C9H8N2OPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:160.17 g/mol2-Methyl-4(1H)-quinazolinone
