CAS:Choline Iodide is a choline compound and an essential nutrient for humans. It is found in many foods, such as eggs, milk, liver, soybeans, and wheat germ. Choline iodide is not considered to be an essential nutrient for animals because they can synthesize it. The compound has been shown to have inhibitory effects on chronic bronchitis by reducing the production of epoxides in the lungs and on emphysema by inhibiting cancer cells from dividing. Choline iodide also plays a role in regulating the metabolism of fat. In plasma mass spectrometry experiments using biological samples, choline iodide was detected at low levels in plasma samples from healthy individuals but was undetectable in patients with chronic bronchitis or emphysema. Choline iodide has been proposed as a model system for studying chemical reactions involving fatty acid oxidation and for understanding the role of hydrogen bonds in these reactions. The compound may be used as an indicator of foodFormula:C5H14INOPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:231.08 g/molRef: 3D-FC75535
