CAS:Trans-4-Amino-1-methylcyclohexanol is a hydrogen-bonding molecule that can be synthesized by the reaction of an aldehyde and an amine. It has been shown to react with magnesium to form a Grignard reagent, which can then be used in other reactions such as bromination. Trans-4-Amino-1-methylcyclohexanol has two isomers, cis and trans, which are distinguished by the dihedral angle between their four substituents. The cis isomer has a dihedral angle of zero degrees while the trans isomer has a dihedral angle of 180 degrees. The x-ray structure for the cis isomer was determined and found to have two hydrogen bonds, one with water and one with ether.Formula:C7H15NOPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:129.2 g/mol
