RN9893 is a selective and potent TRPV4 receptor antagonist with IC50 values of 320, 420 and 660 nM for TRPV4 receptors in mouse, human and rat, respectively.

RN 9893 is a novel, non-peptide, orally available, small molecule that antagonizes the TGF-β1 receptor. This drug has been shown to inhibit cancer cell proliferation and tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. RN 9893 has also been shown to reduce microbial load in mice with disseminated candidiasis. Combination therapy with this compound was found to be more effective than monotherapy for the treatment of cancer cells. More research is needed before this drug can be used to treat human cancers.
