Zinquin Ethyl Ester
CAS:Controlled ProductApplications A fluorescent reagent and indicator of intracellular zinc ions. An analogue of widely used indicator, TS-Q. Zinquin ethyl ester is membrane permeable therefore useful to detect intracellular zinc ions. Zinquin ethyl ester forms a complex with a zinc ion with two nitrogen atoms in the structure. Used for studying the role of zinc in apoptosis.Fluorescence: max. Abs. l = 368nm, max. Em. l = 490nm References Zalewski, P.D., et al.: Biochem.J., 296, 403 (1993), Zalewski, P.D., et al.: J. CAS:Zinquin ethyl ester is a prodrug of zinquin. It is an immunomodulatory agent that has been shown to have neurotrophic effects in vitro and in vivo for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Zinquin ethyl ester binds to membrane-bound amide receptors, which are found on neurons and skin cells, as well as macrophages and dendritic cells. This binding leads to a release of neurotrophic factors, such as nerve growth factor (NGF), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF). Zinquin ethyl ester also inhibits neuronal death by preventing mitochondrial superoxide production. In addition, zinquin ethyl ester is taken up by cells through passive diffusion, with an increased uptake rate when exposed to light.Formula:C21H22N2O5SPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:414.48 g/molAcetic acid, 2-[[2-methyl-8-[[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyl]amino]-6-quinolinyl]oxy]-, ethyl ester
