1-Phenyl-1,2-propanediol
CAS:1-Phenyl-1,2-propanediol (1PP) is a compound that has been shown to be used in the production of pharmaceuticals, such as carbapenems. 1PP can be used for the synthesis of carbapenems by replacing a ketone group with an alcohol group. The use of 1PP in this process allows for a more efficient reaction and higher yield than other methods. This compound is also commonly used as a reactant in organic acid synthesis reactions, such as the conversion of hippuric acid to benzoylacetic acid or benzoic acid. 1PP is also found in urine samples, where it can be detected using laser ablation mass spectrometry. The immobilization of mammalian cells has also been observed when exposed to this molecule at high concentrations. The use of 1PP in these processes may be due to its role in mitochondrial membrane potential and kinetic studies, which are important for understanding cellular functions and metabolism.Formula:C9H12O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:152.19 g/mol1-Phenyl-1,2-propanediol (Mixture of Diastereomers)
